Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5

Synthetic Benchmarks

Synthetic benchmarks are always a thorny issue. For every person who finds them totally enthralling and pours over every tiny variance, there are those who believe them to be utterly unrepresentative of actual real-world performance.
We fall somewhere in the middle. You need some synthetics, but to just have page after page of trifling variances and even we start to nod off.
Sisoft Sandra
Sisoft Sandra is a benchmarking utility that has been around for a long time and is updated regularly. It comes with a plethora of tests but today we're going to use it to test the CPU using both the Dhrystone and Whetstone tests.
CPU Dhrystone and Whetstone results are very similar to other P55 motherboards that have been through the OC3D labs, showing that the P55 chipset is extremely solid and also demonstrating that the amazing array of features on the Gigabyte P55-UD5 and the 12 phase PWM aren't taking any performance away.
Super Pi
Super Pi has been around years and is a regular in almost every hardware review ever seen. Until someone comes up with something comparibly useful it looks like it will be with us for some time to come. Most tests under 1 million places are useless unless you are trying to find extremely tiny differences.
Again the results on display here are on par with previous P55s tested, so let's move on and have a look at memory tests and some more real-world benchmarks.
