Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Master Preview

Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Master Preview

Introduction

We don’t often like to give you peeks behind the curtain here at OC3D, but all these motherboards arrived on Monday afternoon and need to be photographed and written up by first thing Wednesday morning. To say we’ve been busy is somewhat of an understatement. Thankfully for us this is the last of the motherboards we have to write a preview for, and it’s the high-end Gigabyte model that proved so popular last time around, the Aorus Master.

Gigabyte have really turned things around since the introduction of their Aorus range, and the Master demonstrated how they could flex their muscles are some time in the wilderness. Suffice to say having seen the specifications and motherboard of this latest Z690 model we don’t think that they’ve regressed. It is a beast both in size, weight and specifications.

We’ll be bringing you our full performance review at launch on the 4th of November, so for now settle in and see what the Gigabyte take on the latest Intel chipset brings to the party.

Technical Specifications

Gigabyte are the first company to release a full specification table for us to peruse. ASUS gave us nothing we could use, MSI give us an overview, but the Aorus Master has a full setup for your greedy eyes to devour. Like the other high end motherboards we’ve previewed today the main features are all in place, LGA 1700, DDR5, PCI Express 5.0, but also we’ve got another motherboard with an eyebrow-raising amount of power available for your new 12th Generation Intel processor to suckle upon. 19+1+2 @ 105A beggars belief.

The rough and ready nature of this table shows how pre-release it is, and hopefully by launch day on the fourth of November we’ll have a flashier table to show you. But this will more than do for now. It’s nice to know what is going on under the hood without having to make educated guesses.
