Intel Core i5-11400F and ASUS B560 Prime-Plus Review

Test Setup

Following the success of our Core i5 vs Ryzen 5 comparison we were curious how cheap you could get and still have a gaming system worthy of the name. The Core i5-11400F and B560-Plus Prime is only £80 more than Core i5-11600K alone, which leaves plenty of room in the budget for a beefier GPU. So this review is all about the gaming, although of course we'll run our CPU tests too.

Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB Series DDR4 3600MHz
Corsair RM1000i PSU
Corsair iCUE H150i RGB Pro XT AIO
Corsair MP600 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD

Clock Speed

The Intel Core i5-11400F is locked to this speed, being the non-K model. No overclocking available. As you'll soon see though, for those who mainly game this makes no difference at all.

I've been looking forward to this one. The price on that CPU is excellent, assuming that retailers can keep it in stock.Quote
