MSI MAG Z490 Tomahawk Preview

Introduction

Often when we've got a new chipset on hand we have maybe half a dozen motherboards in the office, with a couple from the three big manufacturers. With the Z490 chipset it seems that the manufacturers have all gone out of their way to supply us with every variant they have. So, continuing our attempt to preview every Z490 equipped PCB on Earth we next have the MSI MAG Z490 Tomahawk.

By now you're all familiar with what the Z490 brings to the table, and indeed what it doesn't or might in a future CPU release that nobody is mentioning - PCI Express 4.0 for those unfamiliar with the scuttlebutt.

So let's ignore the glorious sunshine streaming through the window and get down to brass tacks and focus upon the latest addition to the MAG series of motherboards from MSI, and see what the Tomahawk has to offer.
