MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC Review

MSI MPG Z390 Gaming Edge AC Review

Introduction

Continuing our look at the mid-priced MSI motherboards in their Z390 range it’s time to take a look at the Gaming Edge AC.

The three different Z390s split their price between the £140 Tomahawk up to the £180 Carbon Pro, and the Gaming Edge AC fits just below the Carbon Pro at £170. In fact comparing the Carbon and the Edge you get the feeling that the differences are largely aesthetic as both have the same feature set, same amount of Mystic Light RGB effects, the same everything except for the heatsink design on the Edge lacking the M.2 heat spreader.

By now you should all know what to expect from the most recent of Intel’s chipsets so rather than bore you explaining how it might have an LGA 1151 socket but doesn’t support the 7th or 6th Gen Intel CPUs, or explain the inclusion of USB 3.1, let’s just take a look at the Gaming Edge AC itself and see what we can glean from this competitively priced offering.
