MSI X99A Pro Gaming Carbon Edition Review

wPrime95

Even wPrime95, a test which is all about clock speed and little else, shows the refinement of the latest X99 variant. Giving up around 100MHz clock speed and 300MHz DDR4 speed and the MSI is still ahead of things such as the Sabertooth and the XPOWER.

Dam!

I have stayed on Z97 and not gone to Skylake. I hear the X99 platform whispering in my ear. And the form factor being ATX is a big plus for me. I really want one, have to see if the money can be found to migrate my H440 rig to X99

Nice board. The carbon accents are a bit Marmite if I'm honest.

As much as X99 tries to lure me I'm resisting and staying with my Z87 XPower for the moment.Quote
