There is no doubt that the "Extreme" part of the XPOWER is something MSI are going hard and heavy with. We love that the box is so eye-catching, and the motherboard itself makes a refreshing change from the sea of red we're used to.

Inside the box is just about the largest collection of accessories we've ever seen. Every cable and multi-GPU bridge you can imagine is included, alongside a few items we didn't expect, such as the fan mount enabling you to bolt a fan to the motherboard when you're seeking those last few Megahertz with an extreme cooling solution.

The AC part of the XPOWER relates to the latest 802.11 wireless standard which the XPOWER fully supports, along with Bluetooth 4.0, so your modern wireless devices can work at their fullest potential.

Perhaps we're getting old but we can't imagine anyone who is actually breaking world overclocking records would hang such a thing upon their door. Ah well, we like the cable identifiers and "none more black" driver package.

Could someone please educate me on this.

On the Rampage 5 in Tomb Raider you get 92FPS and on the XPower you get 101FPS, Does this have to do with bandwidth or more lanes via an add-in chip or something along those lines ?Quote

both boards have dual full x16 pci-e slots. so shouldn't come into play. as long as your using a full 40 pci-e lane cpu, ie not the 5820k cpuQuote

BIOS can play a huge part. Many FAE teams from all vendors spend time optimising it better for applications like 3DMark, Cinebench and even popular games. As motherboards mature over time from launch the performance improves thanks to BIOS updates that may also improve OC ability too.Quote
