MSI X99S MPOWER AC Review

Introduction

We've recently looked at the MSI Gaming 7 and found that it continued the trend of the MSI Gaming range providing exceptional performance and value for money.

The other big model in the MSI motherboard range is their XPOWER, which has had a rockier ride than the Gaming. The Z77 model was incredible but the Z87 version was great enough without particularly setting our trousers on fire. The most recent was the Z97 version which was actually quite disappointing.

Today, with the X99S, we're moving from LGA115x to the LGA2011-3 socket and the X99 chipset, so is this big change in underlying technology enough to return the MPOWER back to the top of the charts, or was the Z97 a portent of things to come?

Technical Specifications

As you would imagine from anything with that many capital letters in the title, the MPOWER is stuffed full of features and connectivity options. You certainly wont be lacking in places to put things.
