OC3D @ Dreamhack London 2015 with Intel

At OC3D we believe in educating people in the ways of the PC, whether it be a simple system build, replacing an aging HDD with a SSD to even something more advanced like overclocking.

When Intel Invited OC3D to Dreamhack London we saw it as a great opportunity to both educate those that are entirely new to PCs and also as a great opportunity to talk to some like minded people a meet a few of our fans. We of course welcomed Intel's offer with open arms and took part in  several PC building workshops, Overclocking workshops and even SSD workshops.

A lot of people would never even consider building their own computers, due to either fear of doing something wrong, buying the wrong components or even just the process of finding out what components were the best to buy.

In our PC Building workshop with Intel we shown people how to build a system from scratch, from how to choose components, installing your chosen components and even how to install your chosen OS.

Many people were very surprised by the simplicity of it all and hopefully these people will consider building their own PCs in the near future.

While we were present events we are often asked how people should upgrade their PCs and just as often asked how to give an again system a bit of a speed boost.

As many PC enthusiasts already know an SSD is one of the simplest and best upgrades that you can make to a system when it comes to day-to-day computing tasks, speeding up boot and load times, making your PC feel much faster while in use.

At Intel's SSD workshop we showcased the simple benefits of using an SSD and shown users how to clone their existing mechanical hard drives to SSDs, making the upgrade to an SSD a seamless process. We certainly think that a lot of people will be upgrading to an SSD in the future after seeing the benefits first hand.

Third and finally we had taken part in Intel's overclocking workshop, where we had shown the attendees of Dreamhack how to get the most out of their Intel based systems, especially out of Intel's newest Skylake CPUs.

To us overclocking is about more than just getting more performance out of your CPUs, it is an obsession. Overclocking is about getting more, whether it be more performance or greater efficiency.

At Dreamhack we didn't just show people how to overclock their systems to get a higher core speed, but also shown them how to make their systems consume less power and lower their CPU temperatures and make their systems quieter through undervolting.

We were very happy with the feedback that we have received at this workshop, so much so that we believe that a new set of overclocking guides my need to be created for the sit in the near future.

Closing thoughts

OC3D very much enjoyed our time at Dreamhack London with Intel, so much so that we would certainly consider going to other similar events in the future.

Speaking with fellow hardware enthusiasts and getting to teach a new generation of PC builders has really inflamed our passion for PCs and has given us plenty of ideas for future videos and video guides.
