ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080 OC White Edition Review

ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080 OC White Edition Review

Introduction

It should come as no surprise that the ASUS Strix range of products is amongst the biggest sellers around. They are the perfect combination of high performance, fancy looks and reasonable pricing considering their build quality and reliability. As the old saying goes, buy cheap buy twice.

We’ve already reviewed the ASUS ROG Strix RTX 3080 OC in our primary look at the new Nvidia cards. The RTX 3080 is probably the best of the powerhouse ones as it’s half the price of the RTX 3090 but nowhere near half the performance. Additionally the 3070 is good, but the RTX 3080 has a level of futureproofing built into it, important when you’re spending this much on a graphics card. Nobody wants something which can handle current games but by next year – when the next gen console titles are in full flow – is left gasping.

If we’ve already tested this, why are we here again then? Because this particular card is the very limited white edition of that aforementioned Strix, and if the boss likes one thing it is white cards to go in his white system. Refresh your memory on the specifications and then we’ll look at it in the flesh and see just how white it is.
