ASUS ROG Strix RX 6800 XT LC Review

Introduction

Finally we have caught up with the reviews that we’d lost in the great server crash of 2020. If ever a moment encapsulated how bad this year has been then the OC3D server coughing up it’s guts and spewing lots of unreleased content into the ether was the final kick in the plums.

It’s nice to roll to the end of the year with something positive coming out of the Annus horribilus, and it’s the launch of the Radeon RDNA2 series of cards that finally brought AMD back on level terms with Nvidia as a genuine contender for your hard-earned cash. The RX 6900 XT might have been a little bit disappointing in performance terms, particularly when given its high price, but the RX 6800 XT has been a superstar, blending price and performance perfectly.

ASUS have long been famed for producing high end takes upon a particular graphics card and with their Strix range this has definitely been the case in recent years. Rather than just slap their triple fan cooler on the RX 6800 XT they have instead built a dual-radiator AIO to drop temperatures to the floor and push performance through the roof.

Let’s cleanse our palettes of the misery of this past week with a look at a card that will have everyone reaching for their wallets.
