ASUS RTX 3080 Noctua OC Edition Preview

This thing is huge!

Sadly, you will have to return at a later date to see our full review for this graphics card. Testing is already underway, and we expect to release a full review on the website sometime in the near future.

You’ve got to hand it to ASUS and Noctua, this graphics card is almost absurdly large, so much so that the RTX 3080 Noctua Edition will certainly dominate any system that this graphics card is placed in. This is the NH-D15 of GPU heatsinks, and we are loving it, even if its heft is a little inconvenient.

One concern that users of this graphics card may face is with support for add-on cards within your system. This GPU demands that you have at least five free PCIe slots in your system, none of which can be occupied by another device. Good luck fitting this card in your system if you use a capture card and a sound card. I hope your motherboard and case can support that kind of setup. That said, this GPU’s size and heft does have its advantages.

For years, we have seen gamers declare their desire for a Noctua-cooled graphics card, or a graphics card with case-grade 120mm fans and not the small, thin, and loud fans that many of today’s GPUs ship with. To be honest, the idea of a Noctua graphics card was a “what if” question that we never thought would be answered, and with the RTX 3080 Noctua Edition, we finally have an answer to that age old question.

As we have mentioned before , you can expect to see a full review for this graphics card before too long. Until then, you can join the discussion on ASUS’ RTX 3080 Noctua Edition graphics card on the OC3D Forums.
