ASUS Strix GTX 1070 Ti Preview

Our Strix GTX 1070 Ti comes with a sticker we've not seen before. Do ASUS mean that this is an advanced variant that has been speed binned for those of you who want the highest performance, or that this is an advanced model for the press that has been speed binned? Hmm. Only one way to find out we suppose.
The ASUS DirectCU cooler has been hugely impressive for a long time so it is no great surprise to discover that ASUS have continued to implement it on this latest model in the Strix range. The combination of three low noise fans and some seriously beefy heatsinks beneath promise to keep temperatures under control without making you deaf in the process. Combine this with the AURA Sync lighting and you have a card that should look and sound just as good as the visuals it can deliver.
Despite being just a shade below the GTX 1080 in CUDA Core numbers and ahead of it in clock speed terms, the GTX 1070 Ti Strix has a single 8 pin PCIe power input. Frugal.
The business end combines two DisplayPort outputs with twin HDMI and even a DVI-D for those of you still working on steam powered displays.
