CableMod 90 and 180 Degree 12VHPWR Adapter Guide

CableMod 90 and 180 Degree 12VHPWR Adapter Guide

A great product for those who want to take their cable management to the next level

Let’s face it, these 90 and 180 degree adaptors from CableMod are expensive, costing €39.90 in Europe and $39.90 on their global store. This is not an inexpensive add-on, though when looking at this product it is also worth noting that Nvidia’s cheapest graphics cards with a 12VHPWR is their RT 4070 Ti, an £800+ GPU.

Like braided cable kits, CableMod’s 90-degree 12VHPWR adaptors are designed for users who want to upgrade their PC’s aesthetics by improving the look of their system’s cables and improving their system’s cable management in whatever way possible. This is not a product for those without the expendable income needed to buy it. That being said, like all CableMod products, these 12VHPWR adaptors are well build and feel premium.

If you have read this far, it is pretty clear that you want one of these adaptors. This guide is about making sure that you purchase the right adaptor for your system, and that you don’t spend your money on an adaptor that is incompatible with your graphics card or incorrectly oriented. We’d also like to stress that users of these adaptors should take care when removing them from their graphics cards, as some models have their clips in hard to reach locations, and you should never brute force the removal of any of your PC’s power connectors.

Moving forward, we plan to utilise CablerMod’s 12VHPWR adaptors within our test systems so that we can conduct extended testing on them. So expect to see them in future reviews and videos from us. We’ll let you know if we run into any problems with them, but in all likelihood you will will simply see these adaptors in future reviews and not hear much, or anything, about them. If these adaptors are anything like CableMod’s other products, they will simply work without any fuss.

Remember, if you are buying one of these adaptors, make sure that you buy the correct model. CableMod has a list of supported graphics cards on the web pages of their 12VHPWR cables, so check to see if your GPU is supported, and it if isn’t listed, you should be able to check for yourself if your GPU uses a Variant A or Variant B 12VHPWR connector.
