Club3D R9 285 COOLSTREAM Review

Unigine

In our Unigine tests we see similar results to all our previous tests, with the R9 285 topping the Charts compared to the other tested GPUs. AMD pointed out that one of the main improvements on the 285 Tonga GPU core is greater Geometry processing/ tessellation performance. This really shows in Unigine Heaven where the R9 285 has a 10FPS lead over the HD 7870 Tahiti when it comes to average framerate, which is a massive gain given the Tahiti's average framerate was 33.6.

Noice! I was looking at these the other day, with the future possibility of XFire later.. What is the weight like of the card, is it a hefty beast or a no worries light as a feather slab, sag bothers me.Quote

Well I don't have a set of scales to weigh it but i'd say it is pretty lightweight, I didn't see any sag when it was being tested. Hope this helpsQuote

Wait for the full new releases from both sides bud. AMD usually make great mid range cards and Nvidia might get their pricing right...

Exciting times ahead.Quote
