Again we can see in these screenshots the the largest differences can be seen when changing the draw distance slider, with more detailed trees, pylons and water pipes getting drawn at increasingly large distances.

When looking into the distance like this in the countryside setting of The Following the affect of the games Ambient occlusion setting makes almost no visual difference, though it is much more pronounced in the settlements and in the city landscape of the original game.

In this set of night time screenshots we can see how much the lighting changes at each set of settings, with the lighting completely changing when we move from the performance to the balanced setting, with a lot more grass and rocks being placed on the ground.

At the maximum settings we see shadows appear on the mountains in the distance, giving them a much more realistic look.

Great write up !

Have yet to get the expansion but loved the base game in 4 player co-op especially at night when it gets super intense.Quote

I have only just started playing the base game, but I am still stuck on Elite Dangerous as I have given up with Tomb Raider until they fix the performance issues.

This game runs really well though for me at 4K maxed out, on average around 65fps but that was before this DLC released so it might be abit better now.Quote

If you already have the base game then you get upgraded to the enhanced edition free of charge, "The Following" expansion costs around 15 notes though.Quote

It's free if you have the season pass though which luckily I paid for when I bought the game, I think I paid £18 for.Quote
