EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW Ultra Silent Review

Test Setup and Overclocking

EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW Ultra Silent Review

Test Setup

EVGA GTX 1070 Ti FTW Ultra Silent
Intel i7 6850K
ASUS X99 Strix
Corsair ROG Dominator Platinum 3200
Corsair RM1000i
Corsair LX 512GB OS
Corsair LS 480GB x2 Raid0 Games
Corsair H100i V2
Windows 10

Overclocking

With a beefier cooler on a regular FTW it ends up balancing out, where the clock speeds we managed to obtain in the EVGA Precision overclocking tool perfectly matched those we saw on the FTW2. Is it cooler and quieter though?

What is most valuable is that this card runs as quiet as anything we've ever tested this side of a passive card.

Then it isn't silent.
Difficult to discern it might be, but I do want an end to this stupid description of something as silent when it is actually not.
There is no ultra silent or any other form of silence other than actual silence,
And this is not.

Difficult or impossible to distinguish is impressive though.Quote

The silent part is when the fans are not spinning. At least that's how I understand it any way.Quote

Which isn't going to be during any demanding gaming, which is the point of the product.
And then it isn't "ultra silent" or any other fancy sort of silence when using only a fraction of what it is capable of.Quote
