Test Setup and Overclocking

Gainward GTX980Ti Phoenix Golden Sample Review

Test Setup

Gainward GTX980Ti Phoenix Golden Sample

Intel Core i7-4960X @ 4.4GHz
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133
Corsair AX1500i
Corsair Neutron GTX
Corsair H100i
Windows 7 x64
ForceWare 353.30

Overclocking

Despite the excellence of the nVidia GPU Boost 2.0 technology - and be in no doubt it's fantastic - there are still gains to be had from a manual overclock. We squeezed another 100MHz from the Phoenix and it boosted still further to a positively enormous 1465MHz. Impressive stuff.

I recall a disasterous EVGA motherboard having pink pcie slots that shall remain nameless. Your review of the board didn't go down too well with EVGA either Tom Quote

Not sure who Tim is?

Anyways we have a GTX980 Ti Classi coming up soon but the lack of them is all down to EVGA and me not wanting to perfect corporate fellatioQuote
