Gears of War: Ultimate Edition PC Performance Retest with AMD Crimson 16.3 Drivers

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition PC Performance Retest with Crimson 16.3 Drivers

1080p Testing with the GTX 960 and  R9 380

When testing the game again with our R9 380 we see that the combination of AMD’s new driver and the games recent updates have given the game a nice little bump in performance, nothing that can make AMD’s R9 380 performance touch that of the GTX 960 but enough to make the game much more playable.

Where the game gains the most performance is in minimum framerates, but sadly the game does not have any FRAPS or overlay support, meaning that there is no way for us to properly record this data to show you.

Thankfully the game is now much more playable on AMD, but they are still at a performance disadvantage when compared to Nvidia.
