Gears of War: Ultimate Edition PC Performance Retest with Crimson 16.3 Drivers

1080p Testing with the Nvidia GTX 980Ti + AMD R9 Fury X

At 1080p with our R9 Fury X we can see that the minimum framerates improve for AMD, bumping our average framerate to a point where the game is pretty much capped at our monitors refresh rate of 60Hz at all times.

One other thing to note is that with these new drivers and the recent game updates the game no longer has any visual glitches and other issues on AMD hardware, making the game completely playable on the R9 Fury X, at least at 1080p.

Shame about the framerate cap, but good to see it's very playable now.
But what the heck about that AMD 4K performance, AMD should do as good as if not better than Nvidia right now on DX12, so that reeks of more underlying issues with the game.
At least now I know I could pick up the game if I wanted, I have a GTX 970 atm so I should be able to run it just fine.Quote
