Gigabyte Gaming OC RX 5700 XT Review

Gigabyte Gaming OC RX 5700 XT Review

Introduction

So far we’ve looked at a few of the beefiest take upon the latest Navi GPU from AMD, the RX 5700 XT. If we have one take away it is that AMD have done a great job in extracting a high level of clock speed from the chip. This is great for consumers as you can almost guarantee that you will be extracting the maximum performance from whichever purchase you choose to make. It’s a little less good if you’re the type of user who likes to buy the most affordable one you can and then thrash it within an inch of its life with your overclocking tools.

The card we’ve got for review today is the Gigabyte Gaming OC RX 5700 XT. There are two RX 5700 XT models in the Gigabyte range, the regular card which has a single blower style fan in its cooler and the OC model we have here which utilises the three fan Windforce cooler design that is so famously a part of the Gigabyte line-up.

With a beefy clock speed out of the gate we’re curious to discover if the Gigabyte is capable of getting even more performance from an overclock or whether it’s the ideal card for those of you who just like to ‘fit and forget’. Until now the various RX 5700 XT cards have been tightly matched, so does the Gaming OC continue this trend?
