Gigabyte M32U 4K 144Hz IPS Monitor Review

Introduction

Last time we had some Gigabyte monitors in the office for review they were curved VA offerings. Today we move to the other end of the spectrum with the M32U. A 32 inch, flat, 4K monitor supporting 144Hz, HDR400 and with a whole raft of extra compatibility elements.

Usually monitors are aimed squarely at the PC gaming crowd, but thanks to that 4K @ 144Hz combination, and a HDMI 2.1 port, the Gigabyte M32U is also able to support both PS5 and XBOX Series X at 4K120. Perfect if you only want to own the one screen and have it able to support all your gaming fun and games.

Add to that the ability to utilise KVM so that you can control multiple devices from a single keyboard and mouse, as well as USB pass through ports, DisplayPort, and HDR400 the M32U packs a huge amount of functionality behind that IPS screen. Depending upon your viewpoint you might also enjoy the fact that Gigabyte have eschewed the trend towards showy RGB lighting, and instead the thin bezel and matte back have precisely zero lighting other than the power LED. On paper there is a huge amount to recommend the edge-lit Gigabyte M32U, especially at the asking price.

Let's take a look at it and then find out if the reality matches up to the paper specifications.
