Grand Theft Auto 5 AMD vs NVIDIA Performance

Performance

So demanding is GTAV that once you reach 4K you can't add on any anti-aliasing, or at least you can't without owning a Titan X or similar. In terms of raw power the GTX980 has the edge over the R9 290X. Both are very capable. Considering that AMDs beat at the heart of the latest consoles then maybe we're a little surprised at these results. On the flip side of that though we know that the GTX980 is, generally, the faster card. So in a lot of ways this turned out exactly as we would have predicted. We'd recommend going for the 1440P @ 4xAA for the best image/performance balance. Enthusiasts need that AA on.
