The box for the KFA2 HOF Edition is in keeping with the contents. Very monochrome, but we like it. Simplicity is always a good route to take.

The card itself is anything but simple to look at. Three fans is fairly typical, but the black X around the middle fan is slightly odd, and the fan guards on the outer fans serve no purpose as far as we can see. It just looks busy when a more minimalist approach would have been nice.

One of our big bug-bears here at OC3D are coolers that don't match up to the PCB and HOF definitely falls into that category. It's fine, just doesn't wow us. Thankfully the backplate for the HOF is white though. Well, kinda a light silver. It's better than black though.

The use of white power inputs adds to the sense that some beard-stroking design work has gone on with the KFA2. The endplate emphasises the gaps so large that we could be confusing the HOF with a 70s British Leyland car.

While the GPU is great and needs a gold award itself, that is no reason to give all that boards using this GPU a gold award.

Those could be saved for the boards with exceptional cooling, noise levels or build quality. Or something else that makes them above the rest.

Giving everyone Gold makes it a bit pointless - even if all the boards provide awesome FPS.

Well, in my opinion at least.

Thanks for the detailed review.Quote

Thanks for the review.

I am considering purchasing a 980ti and this fella is on my shortlist. So the review is well-timed for me.

Thanks again. Quote
