Test Setup, Overclocking and Temps

MSI GTX680 Twin Frozr 3 OC

Test Setup

MSI GTX680 Twin Frozr 3 OC
ForceWare 301.42
Intel Core i7-3960X @ 4.6GHz
ASUS Rampage IV Extreme
Corsair AX1200W
Corsair GTX8
Corsair H100
Noctua NF-F12 Fans
Windows 7 Ultimate x64

Overclocking

Of course it wouldn't be much cop if we didn't see how much extra performance was available to us, and the MSI slides neatly in to second place of our overclocks, behind the Zotac AMP! but ahead of the Gigabyte Windforce.

Temperatures

We've often said how good the Twin Frozr cooler is, and rarely has a clearer demonstration been had. Even in this sweltering heat it's the coolest GTX680 we've seen.

Asus is starting to do better than MSI with the DCII especially for the Nvidia 6xx series, TFIII is still a one of the best coolers though.Quote

That is a brilliant cooler, amazing temps.

I think giving it an 8/10 for price is high. I mean, £480? When both OC'd it looses in the toughest games around (BF3 and Metro) to the 7950...Quote

Agreed. If it was me i'd have knocked the price score down a bit. Still a great card and the cooler is incredible, but its expensive nonetheless for the performance it delivered in testsQuote
