Whilst MSI might be shying away from their Dragon when it comes to the looks of their products, motherboards in particular, it still stands proudly on the box of every Gaming range product.

The Twin Frozr cooler continues to look as good as it has on all the MSI Gaming range. If you're one of those people who loves your graphics card to look extremely expensive then it's good that MSI have utilised such a flexible cooler. The GTX980 looks identical to the GTX960 we reviewed the other week. Good if you've got a 960 you want to pretend is a 980, but less impressive as this is actually the full-on range topper. It doesn't help that the GTX980 Gaming doesn't come with a backplate unlike the varied other high-end variants of GTX980 we've seen.

The fans are separately controlled which enables the card, in silent mode, to run only one of them, helping to keep the noise levels low.

The business end of the GTX980 Gaming has all the usual trappings. Twin 8pin PCIe power input, SLI fingers for the wealthy, and a DVI, HDMI and three DisplayPorts.

I have two of these bad boys in SLI and get 145FPS nearly constant in BF4 in ULTRA everything turned on @1440p at 144hz multiplayer and couldn't be happier the only disappointment is the lack of a back plate but still a nice cardQuote

It all depends on silicon lottery.

I have a reference 980 that can do 1560/2100 which is far higher than the EVGA SC.Quote
