MSI Optix MAG161V Portable Display Review

Introduction

The MSI Optix MAG161V is part of a range of MSI displays which fit a very specific niche in the market. It isn't a monitor as such, in terms of placing it upon your desk and powering it with your gaming rig. It's a second screen, but in 40cm 1080P form, perfect for those of you who want the flexibility of multi-monitor configurations in a portable format, or those of you who do a lot of travelling and want to be able to see your media on a larger display than your phone.

It is very much for a specific audience, and if you feel that a lightweight, USB powered screen to compliment your current laptop or phone setup is an absolutely perfect idea then read on and discover if the Optix is the product for you.

Technical Specifications

The portability of the MAG161V means it might not be the most fully featured monitor we've ever looked at, but equally considering how light it is, and the type of usage it's likely to get it's more than good enough for its intended purpose. It's far better demonstrated in the flesh though, so let's do that.
