As you would expect from a card that sits at the very apex of the MSI range, the Suprim X version of the RTX 4090 has lovely packaging. A robust box with a free mouse mat so you can show off your taste and sophistication to anyone who passes by. The card is well protected with a dense foam packaging inside too.
Like all the other RTX 4090s we've seen so far, the MSI Suprim X is a triple slot card. Thankfully the design has remained unchanged besides that, and actually copes with being stretched really well.
What we really enjoy about manufacturers finding a design that works and then sticking to it is that, if you have already themed your rig around it, you don't need to adjust anything else when you're upgrading. It might be a small thing but when a card costs this much it's nice to save a little bit here and there.
It's not a triple slot card for the hell of it, even spare centimeter is full of high density fins to keep the card as cool as possible. As we all know by now, thermal limits are what stop the card from clocking even higher, so the cooler the card, the better the performance.
The side you'll actually look at is just as chunky, although we're not hugely convinced by the combination of a plain white, screenprinted, GeForce RTX label alongside the RGB Suprim logo.

So this performs on par with the FE, roughly, losing in a lot of instances(unless the labels on some of the graphs are wrong?), draws more power and runs at a higher temperature and costs at least £200 more than the FE. was it at least quieter?
Now you see why EVGA has pulled out of Nvidia cards |
Yeah, it seems that gone are the days where it actually makes sense to buy an AIB partner card. They're more expensive and are not much better in cooling.

The issue for many of us not living in the UK/US is actually managing to get our hands on an FE card. I would have to import it direct from Nvidia and then pay 36% tax on it
