We’ve often mentioned how Codemasters (now EA) F1 game prefers the AMD platform and it certainly gives some unexpected results here. The GTX 1070 isnt more powerful than the RTX 3070 for example but we will explain why below. However, turn on DLSS and, where available Framegen, and the numbers skyrocket. It’s nice that at 1440P any of the RTX cards except the RTX 2060 will give you over 60FPS average. Vital for racing games.
The GTX 1000 Series cards look to have performed really well here but its actually a game limitation. Unlike the RTX cards where RT is on by default with the Ulltra High preset, with the 1000 Series cards Ray Tracing is completely greyed out. In hindsight we should of manually removed RT for the RTX cards but our intention was to keep things simple and just use presets throughout. If nothing else it does show the impact raytracing has on all of the older RTX cards.Â
