Graphical Options and Settings

When it comes to graphical options Rise of the Tomb Raider has plenty to mess around with, providing full AA options and a large variety of in-Game settings, offering not just Nvidia made but also AMD made graphical effects.Â

This game supports high resolutions and high refresh rates, which will definitely please us PC gamers and gives us enough options that anyone with modern hardware should be able to achieve a stable 60FPS with a dedicated GPU.Â

On the Nvidia side we have their HBAO+ Ambient occlusion option and on the AMD side we have PureHair. Being an Nvidia partnered title this game has not heavily advertised it’s PureHair feature, but at it’s core is the latest version of AMD’s TressFX, delivering the realistic hair we love with a much lower performance impact.Â

The game’s graphical options can be modified both inside and outside of the game, allowing you to change your game settings easily and with little fuss.Â

Â On the controls side of things this game supports full mouse and keyboard key rebinding, allowing PC gamers to modify their controls to their liking, which is always a great thing to see. This game also has full support for PC controllers, giving them that control option if they prefer it, though we were sadly not able to rebind the controllers preset controls. Â

Below we have the game settings that we used to play the game, moving from the games Low to Very high presets and then moving beyond the games highest presets to what we call the games Highest settings.Â

This leaves us with 6 different sets of graphical detail options to test. You can see the presets below and can see screenshots comparing these settings and benchmark data for these settings on the following pages. These graphical options will all be tested with Â no AA.
