Rise of the Tomb Raider – AMD VS Nvidia Performance Review
Graphical Comparisons – Lowest, Low, Medium, High, Very High and Max
Â
Again moving from Lowest to low we see the games lighting make a huge improvement, with a lot more shadows being added to the game, including to Lara herself. On the Lowest Settings Lara Croft does not even cast a shadow, which once seen is not easily unseen.Â
We can see on the medium screenshots that PureHair/TressFX has been turned on, making Lara’s hair react more realistically and look much better than the blocky hair that she has at lover settings. Â In the Last Tomb Raider TressFX was a really demanding addition, so it being added so low in the graphical presets is a good sign that it’s performance impact may be reduced this time.Â
Â
Â
Moving to high settings and beyond we can see textures take a significant leap in quality, making the environment look much more realistic and really immerses you in the world.Â
In the below screenshots we can see a complete absence of shadows in the Lowest graphical preset, with the low settings making a significant improvement. Again between low and medium we see the addition of PureHair/TressFX, but moving to the highest settings we can see that hair become much thicker and realistic as PureHair is turned on to Very high.Â
