Tom Clancy's The Division DirectX 12 PC Performance Review

1080p Performance

Looking at 1080p performance, we can see a similar trend to a lot of early DDirectX 12 titles, with Nvidia GPUs losing some performance and AMD GPUs gaining a little performance. These tests were conducted at The Division's Ultra Preset as a resolution of 1080p.

The most affected GPUs by the move to DirectX 12 is the Maxwell powered GTX 980Ti and the GCN based R9 Fury X, with the 980Ti's minimum framerate lowering by 10FPS and the R9 Fury X's minimum framerate increasing by 5FPS.

We can see that the RX 480 and the GTX 1060 perform very similar in this game at 1080p, with the RX 480 only making minor performance gains with DirectX 12.

All GPU tested can maintain an average framerate of over 60FPS, though the GTX 1060 and RX 480 do experience minor performance dips below 60FPS.

Is it me or are the red bars showing DX 12 and DX 11 averages identical in colour? how are we supposed to know which is which?

Ed. OK I guess the one on top of the white or gray is the corresponding one to the API? so DX12 sucks balls basically.Quote

Sorry about that, I guess the colour don't looks as similar on some screens. Or perhaps my colour acuity is better than average.

I'll redo the graphs and reupload them. (graphs have been reuploaded for more contrast)Quote

OK so looks like the same story as with a number of other implementations of DX12 AMD gains a few FPS on average while Nvidia takes a bit of a hit in DX12 mode.Quote
