XFX R9 290 DD Review

Resident Evil 6

For a stock R9 290 the XFX makes mincemeat out of the only other stock 290 we've tested, the PowerColor. It's getting close to the MSI and that's factory overclocked. Although a toaster would run Resident Evil 6, so the scores are fairly immaterial.

How were the VRM temperatures? They are pretty poor from what I've seen on the net.

For the record, you have to be very careful when buying this card that you get the version that actually cools the VRM. As it gets so bad it throttles.

This card may look like sex, but I still can't shake off ALL the damn build quality issues alot of us had with the previous gen of XFX cards.

(VRM not VRAM, Silly me)Quote
