Zotac GTX 1070 Ti AMP! Extreme Review

Zotac GTX 1070 Ti AMP! Extreme Review

Introduction

Our first look at the latest in the Pascal range of GPUs showed how capable nVidia’s chip was even when it had been trimmed back a bit in comparison to the GTX 1080.

Indeed the GTX 1070 Ti definitely fits into that “enthusiast with slight financial limitations” slot that has seen an awful lot of x70 cards appearing in peoples systems. Even the Founders Edition nVidia one was a stormer, and the ASUS Strix even more so. But what if you want a GTX 1070 Ti but don’t want to go with one of the more common brands? Or what if you want one that has some seriously good lighting chops? How about a model that is designed to take you beyond 2000 MHz?

Enter the Zotac GTX 1070 Ti AMP! Extreme. Zotac have long been purveyors of fine graphics cards and their AMP! range in particular has a dedicated following. Will this combination of AMP! enhancements make the already great GTX 1070 Ti even better? Let’s find out.

Technical Specifications

The main highlights of the AMP! Extreme are the triple fan IceStorm cooler and the accompanying RGB lighting. The clock speeds are the same as the nVidia default, but by the time it comes to testing we’ll have ensured that isn’t the case.
