Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire Mk2 Review

Corsair K70 RGB Rapidfire Mk2 Review

Introduction

The original K70 keyboard from Corsair is still one of the best mechanical options around, and today we’re reviewing their updated Mk 2 model to see what has been refined.

If you’ve found yourself considering a mechanical keyboard then it would be impossible to browse the models on the market without being aware of the Corsair range. Whether it’s their relatively affordable bottom of the range models, or their flagship K95 Platinum, they all tick an awfully large amount of the boxes necessary to find themselves on your shortlist.

Build quality on all of them is up to Corsair’s usual high standards, whilst the feature set are usually a rich combination of the Cherry MX switches that adorn nearly every mechanical keyboard on the market, full spectrum RGB lighting, multiple lighting modes to let you customise the keyboard to your own preference, powerful macro tools with some models having dedicated keys you can assign them to, and the famous Corsair volume roller.

Thus most of us will make our decision based upon the pricing, and it is here where the K70 has proven itself as the model to dominate the marketplace. Now this updated Mk 2 has a lot which continues the good work of the original, with a few minor changes to bring it up to date with the rest of the Corsair range whilst retaining the attractive pricing.

Available with regular Cherry MX switches alongside their Speed and Silent models too, there is a K70 Mk 2 for everyone. Our review sample is equipped with the Cherry MX Speed variant, which means it gets the Rapidfire designation. Let’s find out what else is new.
