Corsair MM700 and Katar Pro XT Mouse Review

Introduction

It’s rare for us to get pair of products which are meant to go together and yet both sit at different ends of their respective spectrums.

The Corsair MM700 gaming surface is over 3ft wide and 15 inches tall, an absolute desk covering behemoth with a weight and price tag to match. Accompanying it is the wired version of a mouse we’ve previously reviewed in its wireless format, the Katar Pro XT, which is insane value for money and very light and small.

With one item offering the very most that a mouse mat could be, and the other being a stripped down, pared back, singular focussed mouse, it’s an interesting juxtaposition. If you’re interested in having a sensor that you would usually have to pay twice the price for, in a product that not only doesn’t break the bank but barely even dents it, then the Katar Pro XT might be just the ticket. There is only one way to find out.

Technical Specifications

There are two distinct standouts from the specification list. The PWM3391 sensor is rightly well regarded as one of the best around with 18000 DPI maximum and the ability to control it in 1 DPI increments. It’s a class sensor. To find it in a mouse which has an MSRP of $30 is nothing short of astonishing.
