Cougar Attack X3 RGB Speed Review

Cougar Attack X3 RGB Speed Review

Introduction

Mechanical keyboards have very much become standardised as the Cherry MX switch style has come to dominate the marketplace. When we started reviewing them the very idea of a light up keyboard was pie in the sky, and yet a scant decade later you not only would struggle to find a keyboard that doesn’t light up, one that doesn’t do all the colours of the rainbow is almost impossible to source.

We have to say it’s an advance in technology that we are wholly on board with. We grew up through the days when you pretty much had the choice between blue or blue for your PC, so being able to have our own clan colours or just our favourite colour is something we enjoy very much. Harmonious systems for the win. Peripherals form a solid foundation of showing off your design skills to the world, and the Cougar Attack X3 has very good lighting effects as you can see propping up the top of this very page.

Keyboards aren’t all about lighting though, the typing experience is king and with the Cherry MX Speed switches installed in our review sample the typing is glorious, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves. First it’s time to test your GCSE language skills but looking at the specifications.

Technical Specifications

Don’t you just love it when you get a German language specifications table even though the website is in English. Fortunately all mechanical keyboards have a very similar specification setup, with Cherry MX keys and USB cables, and we’ll cover the Cougar Attack X3 elements on the next page.
