Introduction

Whenever a manufacturer departs from their regular range of products and expands into something new, we look on with interest. After all, having managed to be so successful at one type of hardware, there is the a sense that on one hand they have a great design team and business understanding, whereas on the other hand they’ve not tried this particular typue of product before.

We’ve been fans of Creative from the days of the AWE64 sound card – yes we’re that old – and they were so successful that for a large part of PC Gaming history everyone’s sound was produced by a Sound Blaster card. The peripheral marketplace is possibly the most keenly fought of all the market sectors, so with the Siege M04 Mouse – and Vanguard K08 keyboard we’ll also be reviewing – can their bring their technical know how to bear successfully?

Technical Specifications

It wasn’t that long ago that every mouse we reviewed seemed to come with the combination of an Avago sensor and Omron switches. The current trend has definitely switched to the PixArt PWM3360 sensor. Its combination of smooth and accurate tracking allied to a 12000 DPI resolution is irresistible and its finding homes in all the latest mice, not the least of which is the Sound BlasterX Siege M04.
