G.Skill Ripjaws Gaming Peripherals Review

Software

Oddly G.Skill call their software the "Unified Driver", yet unlike the Razer Synapse 2.0 or Roccat drivers it only supports the hardware it is designed for. You would guess, given the Unified name and appearance of the hardware in the bottom right corner, that only one instance is necessary. Not the case. It's disappointing. In general it's very easy to use and responsive. Our only real criticism is the lighting which hasn't got any shortcut options to make changing colours an easy process.

To be fair, I found the 10 additional keycaps are quite easy to remove without damaging them. All you have to do is use the provided cap puller located about an inch away in the same little box. Though I will admit to being perplexed for the first second or two pulling on them by hand.Quote
