MSI Vigor GK70 TKL RGB Mechanical Keyboard Review

MSI Vigor GK70 TKL RGB Mechanical Keyboard Review

Introduction

We don’t think that we would be being overly critical to say that MSIs history in peripherals hasn’t really made any waves. Whilst most of the major hardware manufacturers have introduced gaming orientated peripherals successfully alongside the genre heavy hitters such as Razer, Steelseries and Roccat, MSI have never had quite that same level of success. Indeed MSI laptops themselves are always equipped with keyboards from Steelseries, let alone standalone products.

Seeking to change that MSI have released two new mechanical RGB keyboards that tick all teh boxes when it comes to current thinking. There is the GK70 Silver, a full size offering, and the GK70 Red, a tenkeyless (TKL) design and the model we have up for review today.

Combining all the hallmarks of high end mechanical keyboards – CherryMX switches, n-Key rollover, RGB lighting, onboard profiles – with a few tweaks of MSIs own creation we think this has a serious chance of shaking up the market and finding an audience beyond brand-loyal owners.

Let’s take a look.

Technical Specifications

The GK70 Red has a removable USB cable, TKL design, n-Key rollover and is supplied with a selection of keycap designs. Time to see it up close.
