So often we receive memory kits in plain blister packs that it makes a nice change to receive the Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB kit in a serious box. The impatient amongst you who've already glanced down the page, or recall the Dominator heatspreader in DDR3 trim, will notice that even the packaging apes the heatspreader bar. It's those little touches which make a difference. Equally though at this price point we'd expect the extra effort to be made.

With all of the sticks out of the packaging a single one looks very lonely. The quality of the heatspreader is outstanding. There are no stickers or poorly applied screenprints here. Everything befits the enormous pricetag.

It's very difficult to resist the temptation to just stand and stare at it. A RAM kit that costs more than most of our systems and yet looks like it should cost even more thanks to the excellent build quality and depth of the platinum colour on the bar is a thing of beauty.
