Corsair at Computex 2018

Corsair at Computex 2018

Introduction – OC3D is at Computex!

OC3D is at Computex, bringing our commander and chief, TinyTomLogan to Taipei for the first time. To start off this journey, OC3D ventured into the depths of Corsair’s hotel suite, where we found an assortment of new products.

Corsair invited us to Computex this year, making it only fitting that they are the first suite that we will visit, though you can be sure to expect more Computex related content in the coming days in both written and video form if the boss can dodge the hangovers.

WALL OF FANS!

It would be an understatement to say that Corsair’s focus for Computex is on RGB lighting, though to be more accurate we could say that Corsair’s focus is on their iCUE control software.

Corsair has rebuilt their software suite, combining their Link and Cue software to create iCUE, an all-in-one solution for your RGB lighting, fan control and system statistics. Corsair fan can now control all of their components from a single app, simplifying their user experience while adding additional functions to the application.

iCUE also can be set to run game-specific profiles, with Far Cry 5 acting as a prime example, allowing custom lighting to enhance the game’s user experience.

Alongside their latest hardware, Corsair is also showcasing an array of existing products, most of which were available to look at during CES in January. We will not spend much time focusing on Corsair’s existing hardware, though it does showcase how much Corsair has extended themselves in recent years. Corsair is no longer the memory company we once knew.

At the back of Corsair’s hotel suite, we have a relatively quiet zone for relaxation, a place which is relatively free from the madness of RGB lighting and the sea of reporters and enthusiasts who wish to look at the company’s latest hardware.

Here is where Corsair is showcasing their “Unplug and Play” accessories from CES, which allows users to access low-latency wireless gaming, which dramatically enhances the living room PC gaming experience.
