Conclusion – The NZXT C1500 Platinum a great power supply
This is a review where our test results speak for themselves. The NZXT 1500W Platinum is an efficient PSU with a high wattage capacity and exceptionally good voltage ripple control. For £299.99, this PSU is a solid performer that can deliver tonnes of power with minimal noise.
With ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 support, this PSU is ready for the latest PC hardware. This PSU has two 12V-2×6 power outputs for multi-GPU configurations, high powered workstations, and crazy AI systems. NZXT are ready for the next generation of PC hardware, and for the power needs of high-end users.
This PSU is an all-digital power supply, and that means that voltage control is phenomenal with the C1500. Voltage ripple is amongst the lowest on our charts, and even under high loads there was no sign of coil whine or fan noise. With its Zero RPM fan mode enabled, this PSU is silent until 900 watt loads are applied. That makes this PSS silent under all but the highest load situations.
Why is this not available in white?
With white NZXT cases being so popular and commonplace, we have to wonder why there isn’t a white version of the C1500. NZXT’s other PSUs all have white options, but the C1500 doesn’t. Is there any all-white, all-digital 1500W white PSUs on the market? I don’t think so, and I think NZXT are missing an opportunity here. Yes, 1500w PSUs are on the niche side of the PC spectrum, but I would welcome the existence of such a power supply.
Good value – for an all-digital PSU
Overall, we are impressed with NZXT’s C1500 Platinum. Its power efficient, its got strong voltage control, and its quite affordable for a 1500W all-digital power supply. I don’t think there are any 1500W all-digital 80+ Platinum PSUs with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 certifications that are available for £299.99. Yes, the all-digital nature of this PSU makes it more expensive than many non-digital units. Even so, this PSU represents good value for a new high wattage all-digital power supply.
Given its strong efficiency and voltage control, the NZXT C1500 Platinum deserves our OC3D Performance Award. This is a solid power supply with a strong performance profile. This PSU leaves us with nothing more to desire, except a white version…
