Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PC Performance Review and Settings Guide

1440p performance

At 1440p we see similar performance trends to 1080p, with AMD GPUs outperforming their Nvidia counterparts. Graphics cards like AMD’s RX 5700 XT and Nvidia’s RTX 3060 Ti can maintain average framerates of over 60 FPS. Again, we recommend that PC gamers set Modern Warfare 2’s particle quality to low, as this setting is a huge performance hog when Call of Duty is played at higher resolutions. Changing this setting alone will dramatically improve the consistency of Modern Warfare 2’s framerates and make your gameplay experience a lot smoother.

With DLSS, Nvidia graphics cards have an advantage over their Radeon counterparts, mostly because Modern Warfare 2 does not support AMD’s FSR 2.0 (FidelityFX Super Resolution 2.0) technology. Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling has fewer visual downsides than AMD’s FSR 1.0 technology, though FSR 1.0 can deliver similar performance gains.
