Call of Duty: WWII PC Performance Review

1440p Benchmarks

Moving up to 1440p we can see that only the GTX 1080 stays over our constant 60+ FPS performance target, showcasing exactly how demanding certain section of Call of Duty: WWII's campaign can be.

We can see in this test case that our R9 Fury X struggles when compared to the RX 480, a GPU that has less raw compute performance but uses a more up-to-date GPU architecture. This has been seen in other games before, showcasing some clear improvements to AMD's modern GPU architectures.

Like most FPS games stable performance is more important than visual details, so for lower GPUs lower settings for Ambient Occlusion, Shadow map resolution and depth of field are recommended, as these graphical options can free up a lot of GPU horsepower.

AMD used to be great with COD games. The last title saw Fury X easily beating 980Ti.

I'm not sure how I feel about this game. At times it gets me excited to reminisce and go back to my early days of PC video gaming by trying to complete the first Call of Duty on Veteran difficulty, but the same issues that were present 10-15 years ago are still present now. Call of Duty as a franchise has aged poorly in my opinion. While it performs well, the graphics don't look very impressive to me. The story seems overly macho. It just feels so phoned in and fake.Quote

Going to get this but not yet. My gaming partner and I played through BLOPS III in co op, and even though the story made no sense and it was terrible it was still lots of fun because of the co op. I have just bought us Infinite Warfare and when we are done with that we are getting this also.

Props to AV for keeping Co Op a part of their games. Very important, IMO.Quote

Note that the Single player doesn't support co-op. only the zombie mode does.Quote

He means WWII, the campaign is single-player only, though online co-op is still available in Zombies mode (not sure if it has split-screen on PC...).Quote
