Company of Heroes 3 PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

1080p Benchmarks

At 1080p, Company of Heroes 3 is largely CPU-limited when played on high-end graphics cards. This is why Nvidia's RTX 4090, AMD's RX 6800 XT, and Nvidia's RTX 3070 Ti have similar 1st percentile framerates.

Overall, Company of Heroes 3 is a game that runs exceptionally well on PC, with older GPUs like AMD's RX 480 and Nvidia's GTX 1060 being able to offer gamers 1080p 60+ FPS framerates with only a few settings tweaks.

Users of 6GB graphics cards should lower Company of Heroes 3's texture settings down to Medium to ensure that their systems do not become VRAM limited. These VRAM limitations are why Nvidia's RTX 2060 and GTX 1660 Super deliver similar performance levels at 1080p. Both GPUs will deliver higher levels of game performance with Medium textures, giving both stable 60+ FPS framerates.

Excellent review. I did appreciate the extra effort of testing individual and combinations of settings for an aggregate result. Wish more reviews had that. It helps many people when you take a card as popular as the 2060 was and do such such a thing.

I haven't purchased yet, but I've heard good things I'm looking forward to finding time to playQuote

Thanks. I did think that the RTX 2060 was an interesting example given its smaller frame buffer and popularity.Quote
