Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time PC Port Report
Published: 29th March 2021 | Source: OC3D Internal Testing | Price: |
Crash Bandicoot 4 is a demanding title at 4K, but graphics cards like Nvidia's RTX 3070 and RTX 2080 Ti can easily keep the game above 70FPS throughout most of the title. On the Radeon-side, the company's RX 6800 can achieve the same feat.
For users of modern 4K 120Hz TVs and monitors, Crash Bandicoot 4 presents a solid case for Variable Refresh Rate technologies, as this allows today's high-performance graphics cards to enable high frame rate 4K gaming experiences. For users of higher-end graphics cards like Nvidia's RTX 3080 and AMD's RX 6800 XT, framerates approaching 120Hz should be possible at 4K in many areas of the game.
Demanding Gameplay Scene
In our Crash 4's most demanding levels, graphics cards like AMD's RX 6800 and Nvidia GPUs like the RTX 3070 and RTX 2080 Ti can crash below our 60+ FPS framerate target. Thankfully, these dips can be mitigated by using Crash Bandicoot 4's High preset instead of the game's N. Sane settings. This is detailed on page 3 of this PC Port Report. These areas are representative of a minority of Crash Bandicoot 4 stages, though they are worth mentioning due to their severe performance impact.
