Deathloop Patch 1 Tested – DLSS VS FSR and More

Deathloop’s first major post-launch patch has just landed on PC/Steam, adding additional optimisations to the game alongside fixes to the game’s stutter and new additions like Nvidia’s DLSS technology.

With patch 1, Deathloop runs much better on PC. Yes, framerates are similar to before, but stuttering is practically eliminated. We noticed much less stuttering with this new build of Deathloop on our system, and others have reported similar changes. Another thing to note is that Deathloop’s 120 FPS cap has been raised to 240Hz, which is great news for framerate junkies with ultra high refresh rate monitors.

In this article, we will be looking at Deathloop’s use of Nvidia’s DLSS technology and compare it to the game’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) implementation. We will be comparing DLSS to FSR in both performance and quality terms using an RTX 2080 Ti, the same graphics card that we used for our original PC optimisation guide for Deathloop.
