Dishonored 2 PC Performance Preview

Graphical Options and Bugs

When we were looking at Dishonored 2 initially we were impressed by the game's detailed list of graphical options, though we did discover that some settings do not save correctly when you restarted the game, with adaptive resolution scaling to 75% every time we booted the game.

Obviously, we want to play the game at our display's native resolution while testing, so we set the game to 100% resolution every time we played the game. This is a very annoying the bug that Bethesda really needs to patch out, as most PC gamers will quickly grow to dislike changing the game's resolution scale every time they play the game.

Below you can see the basic graphical options menu for Dishonored 2, which has the ability to be played in Windowed, fullscreen windowed and fullscreen modes, with a field of view slider that can be adjusted between 65 and 110 degrees. V-Sync can be turned on and off in this game and that Nvidia HBAO+ will be present in this game.

Those looking to gain some extra performance should turn off Nvidia HBAO+, as this is a very graphically demanding effect, though it does have a big impact on the game's visuals and lighting.

Dishonored 2 has 6 different graphical presets, Very Low, Low, Medium, High, Very High and Ultra, the highest settings of which are designed only for today's most powerful GPUs. Those looking to play this game at 4K will need to play this game with a huge drop in graphical settings and even go as far as consider playing at lower resolutions.

Every option below can be set to Very Low, Low, Medium, High, Very High and Ultra, with the exception of Anti-Aliasing which can be set to off, low FXAA, High FXAA and TXAA 1x.

Below is a set of secondary graphical options which have a simple yes/no option, all of these settings are turned on when you set the game to high, very high and Ultra, which means that these settings are very graphically demanding.
