Far Cry 6 PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

All Settings Tested - Optimisation Tips for higher framerates

We tested all of Far Cry 6's major graphics options to see which settings had the largest performance impact. Below, you can see our results. Many settings have a minimal performance impact, like Terrain detail, and HD textures (if you have enough VRAM). Others, like Volumetric Fog, have a larger impact.

From Ultra settings, PC gamers can achieve significant performance gains by altering the game's Volumetric Fog (high is optimal), Water (medium gives the best visual/perf balance), and Environment Detail (High) settings. Setting Geometric and Vegetation Detail to Medium also has a notable performance impact, but this setting does present some noticeable pop-in.

Tried the game. Boring repeat of the same political drizzle the last few pushed out... The RT in the benchmark is atrocious. Just look at the people and the cars moving on the wet road towards the end. The cars tyres are ghostly blue underneath.

Dont think I lasted 20mins before uninstalling it.Quote

Thoroughly enjoying this game, the whole story and the craziness of everything in it. And it looks so good at times, reminds me of the first Farcry game which at the time was gorgeous.Quote
